My Wonderful Children

Jonelle is a great helper around the house, she likes to cook dinner for us when I let her and she watches a lot of anime on television.   She's actually quite tame for being fifteen years old.   Jonelle spends most of her time these days doing taekwondo, playing the guitar and piano, hanging out on the internet, playing her Gameboy or reading books. She loves to read, especially Lord of the Rings, the Island series, and Harry Potter books. She's a great kid and has an amazing sense of herself and what she wants out of her life.  She's made many friends at school and talks to them all day and then chats with them on AIM all evening.  But her grades are stellar, so I can't complain.  Jonelle has her own email address and would love to hear from anyone who wants to write... rockergirl505@yahoo.com.

Corey is twelve years old and is the techno-wizard of the group. It is amazing what this kid can break...he can break things and I have no idea how to fix them. A few Christmas's ago I got him about twenty Matchbox cars and within one day he'd broken them all. Then he proudly lined them up and said, "Mom, Dad...look, I made a junkyard." He also flushed his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle down the toilet to "send him home." Thanks to Corey, we have a quadraplegic Hercules action figure, a Han Solo with no hands, a decapitated Darth Vadar, etc. Corey used to rip the heads off of Jensen's Ken and Barbie dolls, but ever since the dog started chewing on his toys, he's not so into destroying other people's stuff. Corey also does taekwondo and dances ballet .  He's just about the only boy in the entire junior company, but he doesn't seem to mind, and I figure when he goes to his senior prom someday, he'll not have a problem finding a date.  :-)  Like his sister, Jensen, he's been performing all over the city and just a few months ago wrapped his run as Peter in "Peter and the Wolf."  Corey loves to play with his Legos. He has endless sets and builds all kinds of things. So maybe that means someday he'll figure out how to fix my stereo. He stuffed one of his action figures in there years ago and everytime I turn the volume up just a bit, the thing rattles around and makes a terrible noise, and I can't get it out of there.

Jensen is eleven years old and is most definitely cut out to be an actress someday. She is quite vocal about what she wants and thunders around if she doesn't get it. Which means she does her fair share of thundering. I can't take her to the store without her finding something she has to have for her survival, and when she doesn't get it she stomps around and turns red around the ears. I'm hoping it's just a phase, otherwise she's going to drive her future husband insane. :-) Jensen has made a lot of friends at her school, and has a busier social calendar than I do. Jensen took acting classes and is currently taking taekwon do and ballet. She is a veteran performer, having done ballets throughout the city for the last three years.  Jensen is constantly putting on shows for us...she sings to her favorite songs...and she memorizes lines from movies almost as much as I do. I can't keep up with her sometimes, as she quotes movies I haven't seen in a year. The other day I caught her saying "Nobody puts Baby in a corner." Do you know what movie that is from...Dirty Dancing...at least she has good taste in '80's flicks. ;-)

Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind...
